The YOGA CENTER OF MARIN offers classes in Hatha Yoga, based on B.K.S. Iyengar’s method of teaching. Strength as well as flexibility are emphasized, and much attention is given to proper alignment, breathing and relaxation.

PRENATAL YOGA with Suzanne Kanner
Thursdays • 5:45–7:00pm
. Focus on those areas of the body that need stretching and strengthening during the prenatal and postpartum year. Meet new friends, too! No previous yoga experience necessary.

INTRODUCTORY YOGA

Take this introductory class and see how yoga can increase your flexibility and help you feel relaxed after the stress of the holidays. This series is for people who have never taken yoga before or who have not practiced for a long time.

Rachel YellinPRENATAL PARTNER YOGA & BIRTH PRACTICE with Rachel Yellin
Sunday, June 1 • 10:00am–1:00pm
THIS three-hour workshop will teach the mom-to-be and her partner how to manage the sensations that come with giving birth. This is the perfect way for you to connect with each other and your baby as you prepare for the life-changing experience of childbirth.


Jamie LamkaBENEFIT CLASS for JAMIE LAMKA
Sunday, June 22 • 10:00am–noon
ALL Yoga Center of Marin teachers will get together to teach this benefit class for Jamie Lamka. Jamie was a teacher at the Yoga Center of Marin who was stricken by a spinal infection in 2006 and suffered severe medical consequences. He has made steady progress on his road to recovery but is still unable to work. He was a very popular teacher who gave freely to all his students. We would like to be able to help him in his time of need. Please come whether you knew Jamie or not for this great cause and for a fun class. All levels welcome, all donations, small and large greatly appreciated.


Suzanne KannerMEDITATION at the

MORNING ZAZEN with Layla Smith (Gyokujun Teishin)
Wednesdays & Fridays • 6:30–7:10am
(followed by 5-minute reading and tea/discussion on Friday). Layla is a Zen Priest with Dharma transmission in lineage of Shunryu Suzuko-roshi. These are informal sessions; beginners and those from other meditation traditions are welcome.

KADAMPA BUDDHIST MEDITATION with Kathleen Thurston
Fridays • 7:00–8:30pm.
Increase positive states of mind and inner peace through meditation. Classes offer simple guided breathing meditations, Buddhist teachings, and analytical meditations with interactive discussions. Chairs and cushions are provided. Everyone is welcome. Donation requested.

VIPASSANA MEDITATION with Marin Sangha, led by Phillip Moffitt
Sundays • 6:00–8:00pm (arrive as early as 5:45pm to set up your space). This is a sitting group with a mind-body orientation and emphasis on direct experience. Newcomers always welcome.
